Weekend of color.

This week in miami, one of the biggest house music festivals took place, with thousands of people on the street. This type of festival calls for a lot of color, especially neon and pretty much anything else one may not want to wear on a regular day.

Below are a few examples of the neon:

Another trend that I spotted was something people are calling gloving. Which are gloves with lights, just like below.

And now some music from ultra:

Have a great week,

Everything is better with a scarf.

This past week I did a bit of traveling and one thing really stood out. Everything looks better with a scarf, especially this time of year. A simple white t-shirt and jeans can turn into a fun outfit with a scarf of any kind; animal print, skulls, or a regular print.

Animal print scarves have been fashionable for a few years and they come in almost any color and in all price ranges.  As one can see in the following picture Celebrities have also caught on to this trend.

Skull print scarves have also been fashionable for a few years, and were made popular by Alexander McQueen. Below you can see one of the originals but they can also be found at any price range.

The third type of scarf print that has been trending for the past few years is the Keffiyeh print, which is actually a traditional Arab headdress but first became fashionable in the US in the 80’s. It has come back now not only in black and white but in almost any color one can imagine.

Below are two more fun scarves that can pep up any outfit!

The song of the week is from across the pond from Estelle.

Everything with Black.

As usual at fashion week if one watches every single show one will find every color and every type of look and this was definitely the case at Milan Fashion Week. There were a few trends that stood out for me; the color red, black and gold as a combination and black with navy blue stood out.
These trends that are meant to be fall 2012, could already be spotted on the streets of Milan this February.  There were many colors in the runways shows, from purple and pink to brown and nude but red stood out to me the most. On the runway it was seen in multiple collections including Marni and Jil Sander. Below is the Jil Sander dress.

On the street it was a little different, the red dress also incorporated one of the biggest trends of this coming spring. Florals.

The second trend is the combination of black and blue. Many of the big fashion houses of the world jumped on this trend including Roberto Cavalli, Emporio Armani, Bottega Veneta and Moschino. Below are the Emporio Armani outfits.

This style was also spotted on the streets of Milan during fashion week. In this case it happened to also be a suit but for everyone wanting to try this combination, it can be done with most styles.

The last style is one that I’m sure most of you have seen at some point this award season. Black and Gold. First lets look at the runway looks by Dolce and Gabbana. As you can see below these colors were a theme throughout the show.

My favorite black and gold style wasn’t on the runway or on the street; it was on the red carpet. At the Academy Awards Jessica Chastain looked gorgeous in Alexander McQueen.

She wasn’t the only one who wore black and gold that night, she was joined by Sandra Bullock.
The streets incorporated this combination in a very different way. The following picture isn’t as dressy but definitely better for daytime or less fancy occasions.

To recap, this fall you will definitely be seeing red, the combinations black and blue as well as black and gold. So get a head start on fall 2012 trends and check out www.thre.ad for more street style!

This weeks song is Danger by Nikki and Rich.

Enjoy
